When Mr. Imran Khan laid eyes on the wilderness beside Namal Lake, he imagined a knowledge city inspired by his alma mater, Oxford University. He envisioned a center of knowledge to rival the best institutions in the world that would mold the youth of Pakistan into leaders of tomorrow. Accommodation

The best talent can be attracted with only the best facilities and the promise of comfort. Namal provides this with a secure accommodation that is sanitary and spacious in a scenic area with gorgeous views. It is a home away from home for teachers and students who move to the campus for the sake of knowledge. Townhouses and more hostels will be constructed in the Knowledge City on the South Side of the campus to enhance the experience of living at Namal.

Academic Programs

World undergraduate programs in computer science, electrical engineering, business administration, and mathematics are being offered to the students of Namal. To facilitate learning within these disciplines, state-of-the-art labs have been built to equip students with the skills they need to compete with the world. However, this is just a start. Namal Knowledge City will offer a wide range of disciplines, from medicine to hospitality, to enable the students to become leaders of tomorrow. 

Research Centres

A university is only as good as its research output. Institutions all over the world aim to attract the best brains for this purpose. Namal pulls talent through the availability of world-class research centers that facilitate learning. The Nisar Aziz Agri-tech Center and Center of Artificial intelligence and Big Data are two examples. Students at Namal spend time in these centers to learn as well as develop innovate solutions to the most pressing problems faced by Pakistan.

Laboratories

The practical application of theoretical knowledge helps students internalize information and prepares them for the real world. Namal equips its students with the best tools. The main laboratories include robotics lab, electrical engineering labs, and several computer labs. With world-class technology that rivals that of the best institutions of the country, Namal ensures that its students can step out and compete with the world.

Library

A vast archive of information has been put at the disposal of the students and teachers of Namal Knowledge City in its library. Books that can guide in all disciplines are housed here to provide learning resources to Namalites. Soon, Namal Knowledge City will contain one of the biggest libraries in the country where people can benefit from the knowledge that is open and free for all.

Sports Facilities

The physical fitness of students is a top priority at Namal. To promote a healthy lifestyle students have access to facilities such as a gym, basketball court, badminton court, table tennis, a cricket ground and much more. Namal Knowledge City will also include a sports complex to provide training to Pakistan’s players and attract tourists for sustainable development.

Time Bank

Students at Namal embody the values of integrity and social responsibility. They pay back their scholarships – not as loans, but as hours of contributions. Students deposit 320 hours annually for community service and on-campus jobs in the time bank and learn to become pillars of society.

"Seeding Young Minds"

The impact of Namal Knowledge City is not confined to the campus. It has also transformed the community around it. The society has internalized the importance of education and a primary school near the university has become a model educational institution. It is attracting students from as far as 100 km to get quality education – often from spouses of the university faculty themselves. Namal School has 300 students enrolled and offers education from Kindergarten till class 8th. The school has become a hub of learning in the vicinity and children from nearby villages come to study here. Thus, the ripples of change initiated by Namal University can be felt far and wide among all strata of society.
